Today, in Jersey, the sun is shining and the air is crisp and the neighborhood is quiet.

It has been so hectic, lately that the quietness is a nice respite. I’ve no music on, no TV blaring (not everyone, loves a parade), just the sound of the music in my head and clacking of the keyboard. By the way, have you ever listened to yourself type? It’s kind of cool when you get on a roll, when the thoughts come pouring from your soul and you type and type, words flowing and ideas bouncing all round the room. There is a rhythm of the clacking of the keys, and if you are not careful you can end up writing a sentence that appears to have come from the school of Kerouac with a Dan Rather chaser, like the deep intense desire to drive I-78 West to I-81 West to I-40 West and watch the Wafflehouses and Cracker Barrels go by at lightening speed while LilyMae and Charlie play in the backseat of the ‘78 Volarie driving painfully slow in front of you.

Maybe Dark Chocolate and reading On The Road before bed was a bad idea. I apologize for the digression. (more…)
