New Release: Blues Fri & Sat

We’re a few days into July and here is the June Studio 303 Records release: Blues Fri. & Sat.
I spent some time in Boston in early June, reliving some glory days. When I lived up there, I furthered my education in one side of true American Music.

Blues is the Father, Jazz The Mother and Rock the child.  The sister of the Blues is American Folk (who is descended from English Folk, but she is much freer and flirty).

New Weird Al - Now with 100% more Manzarek!

I have been a huge Weird Al fan since almost the beginning of his career. My brother JNM and I would often skip down the streets of our idyllic little Italian hamlet in Northern New Jersey singing “Nature Trail To Hell (in 3D)” and “Rye or the Kaiser.”
This week Mr. Yankovic emerged from his hermitage of solitude with a new song and video. Proving the age old addage true: “Weird Al and the Doors, two great tastes that taste great together.”

It’s Funny Because it’s True…

I work in the media and work with vendors and partners all day.  I was sent this little clip and it reminded me of why we need better funding.  I suppose the underlying message is, “Undercutting a vendor hurts everyone.”

To Boldly Spoof

I saw the new Star Trek, yesterday with The Other Brother. Having not seen a Star Trek film in a number of years, I was quite impressed with this “reboot.”
Of course, now that Star Trek is back in meme, three stars appeared on SNL last night, as a matter of fact. I realized that SNL has done some very good ribbing at Kirk & Co:
